A few weeks ago I bought the Derwent Artist pencils. They were recommended to me as a dupe for my beloved Prismacolors. I’ve used Prismacolors for the past 20 years, so I think it’s safe to say I’m a ”connoisseur” of their pros and cons. I decided to make a video where I demo and compare both brands.
I’m trying to fill my sketchbook so I decided to take it with me this weekend. I wanted to do something different, so I sketched I bunch of Pokemon in random order on my Strathmore Watercolour Sketchbook.
The Pokemon Go game just released their legendary Pokemon Raids, so I went out and tried to capture Lugia and Articuno (watch the video to see if I succeeded).
A few weeks ago I posted this video where I showcased my favourite current art supplies and how I use them.

I´ve been drawing sparkly bats. Lots of them! I think the black paper accentuates their nightlife nature as well as all the glitter and metallic goodness of the inks. I made a timelapse video to show you the process behind these batlings.
This is a watercolour illustration I made to be used as a bookmark. The bookmarks based on this design will be released later on.
Follow me through my process in search for inspiration. I´ll take you to Hacienda San Miguel Regla where I fall in love with the texture of ivy leaves. Check out the video below!
Black cats, Ghosts, Aliens… Mab’s Drawlloween Club came to an end this year. The last week was the hardest (time-wise) so I combined some of the last ideas into single concepts. Managed to finish a total of 30 promts (missed the Custom Creature). My personal challenge was experimenting more with my tools and ideas. The most important thing was creating the habit of thinking conceptually and sketching daily.
More daily illustrations based on #mabsdrawlloween prompts! Definitely, the best challenge of the year.
October is usually my busiest month but I was looking forward to experiment on a daily basis. This year, I decided to give @mabgraves‘ Drawlloween prompts a go! The amazing amount of work I stumbled across #mabsdrawlloweenclub is outstanding! I love waking up to new art, it takes me back to art school. These are my sketches and illustrations from Day 1 to Day 13.
