Last Saturday was Hidalgoth, a first event of its kind in Pachuca, México. It was organized by Dead Souls and was raised to celebrate the World Goth Day with diverse artistic deliveries. Of course I had to partake! It doesn´t matter where I am, I always have to join the darkside.
Check out my video impressum of the event. Couldn´t record all the performances and bands because I was on my art table but it was fun nonetheless. Got to see known faces, as well as meet new people and chat with them for a little bit. The gathering was as diverse as the arts showcased, and people seemed to really enjoy themselves that night.
The band Pain Rills really stood out to me the most. Sound wise, they remind me of Butterfly Messiah with a dark cabaret visual approach. Wish I could record a little bit of their performance instead of their sound check. I was also mesmerized by the Snakeskin bellydance performance. So beautiful! Not shown in my video, was a very creative theatre and music mix presentation by La Horda de los niños cuervo.
Check out the goodies I bought from local creators:
This cool all-black skull ring made by @Nalahdez.
And this necklace by @pockyf
I showcased one of my Mermays and pre-released two new bookmark designs during the event. One of them inspired by the Rainbow Octopus watercolour I featured on my last post and the other one is the most adorable fluffy cat inside a coffin. They will be available in my shop very soon, so keep an eye.
I actually made the dress I wore (you can´t really see it tho). But I basically transformed two pieces I had lying in the closet. The top is a modified bodysuit (that didn´t fit quite right). I added some strappy details to the collar. And the bottom is a skirt I had been wearing as a dress for years but it was too warm and bulky, so I took the lining out and attached the frilly portion of the skirt to the top part of the bodysuit. Final result is a multi textured, high-low dress. Add some ripped tights and you have a fun and quick DIY, that´s not to hot for summer.
Hope you are having Happy World Goth Day. Don´t forget to play your favorite dark tune tonight! ♥
