Medusa: 10 Hair Products (Quick Review)

I wrote 10 short notes about my personal experience with hair products I’ve tried recently. This time I’m mostly reviewing Heat Protectors, Conditioners and Hair Treatments. I hope this helps someone who’s looking for new products to try. .

For reference: My hair is naturally “Curly Coily” and dry, it’s also bleached. I live in a very humid place and the sun impacts my hair daily

Beyond Zone Pro Formula – Turn Up the Heat Flat Iron Protection
This product was given to me by a friend. I really like this stuff. It does feel like it is protecting my hair and it smells interesting. However putting on too much of this, on your bangs will make your face all oily/greasy after a while. This being said, a little goes a long way. Will buy again.

Beyond Zone Pro Formula – Straight Shot
Really good product. There’s a visible difference of shine immediately I put it on. It also tames frizzy hair during wear. A little goes a long way (I cannot imagine this bottle being empty). Leaves a sweet coconut aroma. *do not attempt drinkin’!

African Pride Olive Miracle – Braid Sheen Spray
I used this product on my dreads after a store clerk recommended it to me. It’s ok but not really necessary. Pro: It felt nice ad smells divine.

African Pride Olive Miracle – Creme
This stuff is really oily. For really dry/damaged hair it works like a charm. I even bought this product three times! You have to work a small amount at first, “embalm” your hair with it and keep your hair away from the face because it does melt all over you (at least this was the scenario I lived during summer). A “treatment” of this stuff once a month is all I need. Will most likely buy again.

Schwarzkopf Got2be – Crazy Sleek
This is such a clever product. It’s like a leave in conditioner that works wonders when you style your hair! I style my hair into (no heat) curls and this keeps the hair looking healthy for days. If I blow dry or Flat Iron my hair this keeps the frizz at bay, making the style last longer. I will buy this again.

Garnier Fructis Triple Nutrition Conditioner
Opted for this conditioner because it was the cheapest on the pharmacy. It smells divine and it leaves my hair soft and conditioned.

One ‘n Only Argan Oil- Cream to Serum Styler
I used this as directed and it didn’t work. I used this just for styling (with no heating appliances) and it still did not work. It just left my hair really dirty and unmanageable with a lot of frizz. Not buying this again, EVER!

One ‘n Only Argan Oil – Hydrating Mask
This will enhance your dull bleached hair, because it’s really hydrating. I really liked this mask, I might buy it again.

Hask Macadamia Oil- Hair Treatment
Woah, this is magic on a little packet! Yes, this really repairs dry and damaged (in my case bleached and dyed) hair. Heating appliances freak: Go try this. It’s really hydrating. I want to buy this again to see and feel its mystic even further.

Aphogee Serious Care and Protection – Step and 1 and 2
Ewwwwwwwwwwww! The protein step smells so nasty! After following exact instructions I’d say my hair felt nice and smooth. But it’s hard to be objective with such a foul smell on my head. I’m not sure I’d buy this again. I’d rather try other similar products first.

Note: Nobody paid me for these reviews. I just want to share my experience. ♥

  1. Thanks for making this posts I just hope I’m able to those products that you posted here I’m pretty sure I’ve seen the Garnier fructis one. One of the main problems about living in Panama is that there’s so much humidity that my hair just poofs to all hell because when I’m in the states it’s completely straight which can get really annoying. I wondered if maybe you could do a post about bad hair days & how to quickly fix them as everyday for me as a bad hair day unless I spend some money at the salon to get my hair straightened. <3

  2. I’m so glad that you made this round up, since I am always hunting for the perfect product that will make my hair healthy-looking and frizz free! You are right about the Garnier cheap hair conditioner; I got one of those (the one with avocado and argan oil) because it was basically my only option at that time, and it turned out to be AMAZING for my hair! Much better tan the expensive John Frieda stuff I had been using, and for a fraction of the price! Cool.

I am eager to try the Schwarzkopf Got2be – Crazy Sleek since frizz is my number one nemesis when it comes to hair issues…

    1. Thank you! I have no idea why I’ve tried so many products! I’m hooked with the Garnier products, they are actually great!
I hope the Got2be product works for you. ♥
